Ms. Pauline Ng, currently International Parliamentary Consultant, was formerly the Secretary General of the Legislative Council Secretariat, HKSAR. Apart from being engaged by The Legislative Council as the Chief Writer of a manual on Council procedures, Ms Ng also undertakes parliamentary development assignments for the United Nations in countries such as Myanmar.
Ms Ng joined the Legislative Council Secretariat in 1994 after working in the Hong Kong Government for 22 years holding key positions in human resources management and in training and development. In 1990, Ms. Ng was seconded to the former Office of Members of the Executive and Legislative Councils for four years before she became Assistant Secretary General when the independent Legislative Council Secretariat was set up in 1994. In September 2008. Ms. Ng was promoted to Secretary General and she served as the Clerk to the Legislative Council and chief executive of the Secretariat.
Ms. Ng received the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government/Public Service in 1999, and was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star in 2012.
Ms. Ng is active in community service. She was President of the Zonta Club of Hong Kong from 2008 to 2010 and is currently the Chairman of the Nominating Committee of District 17 of Zonta International. She is also an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Happy Valley.
Ms. Ng currently sits on the English Schools Foundation Board as an independent Governor and Chairman of its Remuneration Committee. Ms. Ng is also the Honorary Adviser to the Hong Kong Quality Management Association, and office bearer and member of a number of professional associations, charitable organizations and foundations.
Ms. Ng is a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors and has a Professional Diploma in Company Direction. She is also listed on the Panel of Mediators of the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited.
